Cultivation Parameters

Maitake is a temperate species that requires a drop in temperature and precise humidity to initiate its complex fruiting body.

• Fruiting Temperature: 13–18°C (Optimal for slow, high-quality development).
• Relative Humidity: 75–85% (Lower than many gourmets to prevent bacterial blotch on the fronds).
• Recommended Substrate: Sterilized hardwood sawdust (Oak or Beech preferred) with high-nitrogen supplementation (Bran or Soy).
• Harvest Note: Known for its "brain-like" or "ruffled" appearance, Maitake is a heavy-yielding perennial in the wild, but requires patience and precision in a lab setting.
